How to Use

A practical guide to help you search, explore, and find useful child rights materials.

What can you do on this website?

This website helps you learn about children's rights, find child-friendly resources, explore UN materials, and discover advocacy tools that can help you take action in your school or home.

You can search by topic, right, problem, situation, or keyword. The search will help you find UN documents, advocacy tools, and other related materials.

How to search

1

Search for a topic

Use the large search bar on the homepage when you want to explore the whole resource centre. This is useful when you are not sure where to start.

2

Use the top search bar

When you are already browsing another page, use the smaller search box in the navigation bar to search without going back to the homepage.

3

Open the search results

After searching, you will see a results page with materials related to your keyword. Open the items that seem most useful.

4

Refine your search

If the results are too broad, use a more specific keyword or use the filters on the left side of the search results page to narrow.

Tips for choosing good search keywords

Start with simple words

Try short keywords such as education, play, privacy, health, violence, discrimination, family, school, or protection.

Use child rights topics

Search for phrases like right to education, right to play, child participation, children and privacy, or protection from violence.

Search for real-life situations

You can search for situations such as bullying, online safety, climate change, migration, disability, or mental health.

Try different wording

If you do not find what you need, try related words. For example, search school instead of education, or online instead of digital.
